FileShrink is designed with privacy in mind. Our JPG compression tool processes your images directly in your web browser rather than uploading them to a FileShrink server.
Your Images
When you select an image, FileShrink processes it locally on your device using your browser's built-in capabilities. Your selected images are not uploaded to a FileShrink server, and FileShrink does not store copies of your images on its own servers.
No Account Required
You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide personal information to use FileShrink's image compression features.
Your Files Stay Under Your Control
Your original image remains on your device. FileShrink creates the compressed JPG in your browser, and you decide whether and when to download the resulting file. FileShrink does not modify your original file.
Target Size Compression
If you enter a target file size, FileShrink performs the required compression calculations in your browser. The image does not need to be uploaded to a server to use this feature.
Batch Compression
When you select multiple JPG images, FileShrink processes the images locally on your device. The files are not sent to a FileShrink server for batch processing.
Downloads and ZIP Files
Compressed JPG files are generated in your browser and downloaded to your device when you choose to download them.
When using the "Download All as ZIP" feature, FileShrink creates the ZIP file in your browser. The images do not need to be uploaded to a FileShrink server to create the ZIP file.
Third-Party Services and Libraries
FileShrink does not intentionally send your images to third-party image-processing services.
Some website functionality may use third-party libraries or hosting services. For example, the ZIP download feature uses the JSZip JavaScript library. These libraries are used to provide website functionality and are not used by FileShrink to upload or store your images for image processing.
Personal Information
FileShrink does not require you to provide your name, email address, account credentials, or other personal information in order to compress images.
Advertising
FileShrink is currently free of advertisements. We are keeping the website ad-free while we focus on building a useful and reliable image compression service.
In the future, FileShrink may introduce advertisements to help support the continued development, hosting, and maintenance of the service. If advertising is introduced, this privacy policy may be updated to explain any relevant advertising or third-party services and how they may affect your privacy.
Website Security
FileShrink is designed to minimize unnecessary handling of your files. Image processing takes place locally in your browser, which means your images do not need to travel to a FileShrink processing server.
However, no website or internet connection can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We recommend keeping your browser and device updated and using a trusted connection when accessing websites.
